Dr Sheikh Salim Alwan Alhasany visited the
Embassy of Morocco in Canberra
The Chairman of Darulfatwa (
Islamic High Council of Australia ) Dr Sheikh Salim Alwan Alhasany, accompanied
by a number Imams, community leaders, including Dr. Ghayath Al-Shelh OAM (
President of Islamic Charity Projects Association - ICPA Australia ) visited the Moroccan Ambassador, Mr. Mohamad
Mael-Ainin yesterday in Canberra.
During the visit, his Eminence
Sheikh Alwan presented a plaque of appreciation to the Ambassador to
acknowledge his services to the community in Australia in general and to Darulfatwa
in particular.
Furthermore, they discussed the
visit of Sheikh Alwan to Morocco at the beginning of Ramadan this year and his
participation in ( Al Majales Al Hasaneyah ) as well as his meeting with the
King of Morocco and his Ministers, especially the Awqaf and education ministers
in order to strengthen the relationship between Morocco and Darulfatwa
Australia as well as to find ways of exchanging expertise between the two
countries and participating in future
events such as Forums and conferences.
Mr. Mael-Ainin valued the visit
of Sheikh Salim Alwan to Morocco in order to reflect the true image about
Morocco to the Muslim Community in Australia. Namely, Morocco paying due
attention to the importance of learning and teaching the true knowledge of Islam,
which is a Religion of moderation, clear of any extremist views, through its
conferences and courses throughout the country.
In conclusion, the Moroccan
ambassador thanked Sheikh Salim Alwan and Darulfatwa, The Islamic High Council
of Australia, for this visit to the Moroccan embassy and wished him all the
best in his future endeavors.
